With over 200 events, workshops and discussion, the Edinburgh International Science Festival is one of the largest explorations of science in Europe.

The Edinburgh International Science Festival, part of the wider Edinburgh Festivals programme, is a two-week extravaganza of inspirational science events for people of all ages that is set to run from 30 March to 15 April 2012.

A great family day out, there is a wide range of different events that include hands-on activities, interactive exhibitions, fun packed workshops and talks that are sure to inspire, stimulate and entertain all five senses on the most intriguing areas of science and technology.

2012 highlights include appearances by TV’s most extreme scientist Dr Bunhead, psychological illusionist Derren Brown, a brand new action-packed show by BBC One's Bang Goes the Theory Live and a unique opportunity to seperate fact from fiction and discover whether it is really possible to walk on red-hot coals.

There is something for everyone with a wide programme that includes over 200 events, workshops, screenings, comedy, theatre, debate and discussion.This year looks set to be another great year for the Edinburgh Science Festival and this educational, entertaining and unique festival is certainly worth a visit.
