寒冬来临，开车上路注意事项+雪天驾驶

寒冬的天气会令驾车的人感到不悦，风雪天会使路况变差，能见度降低。所以，在这个严冬到来之际，提供给大家一些winter driving的注意事项，请各位一定小心驾驶，让事故防患于未然。

1. Checking routes

每次出发之前，一定要计划好出行路线，如果可能的话，尽量避开一些拥挤，事故多发地段，并给自己准备好非常充足的出行时间，避免着急慌张。

2. Carry essentials

保暖衣物，毯子，热饮，手电筒，铲子及合适的鞋子。

3. Tell someone at your destination what time you expect to arrive.

4. Checking the weather forecast

恶劣天气不仅仅指下雪天，路面结冰。它还包括狂风，雾，烈日和降雨。如果天气预报预测你出行的那天天气情况非常恶劣，考虑一下你是否还有出行的必要，即使路途短暂。

5.Checking your vehicle condition

在寒冬，检查车况良好与否尤其重要。出发之前，一定要确认你的汽车处在良好的状态之下。请参考以下方面：

•       keep the lights, windows and mirrors clean and free from ice and snow
•       add anti-freeze to the radiator and winter additive to the windscreen washer bottles
•       make sure wipers and lights are in good working order
•       check that tyres have plenty of tread depth and are maintained at the correct pressure

6. Help and advice for your journey

在寒冬的天气里，路况可能会突变，所以一定要尽力做好一切，以减低事故发生率：
•       降低行驶速度
•       增大行车距离
•       避免突然加速或紧急刹车
•       根据情况，使用 dipped headlights
•       如果长时间驾驶，每2小时休息一次
•       不要越过 closed snow gates
•       注意收听路况信息

如果不幸真的抛锚或stuck在某个地方，请注意：
•       ensure that your vehicle will not block access (abandoned vehicles can obstruct spreaders)
•       if possible, remain in your vehicle unless there is a safety risk
•       maintain your circulation by moving about
•       use engine to keep warm unless exhaust cannot vent
•       keep an airway open if snowed over

下面着重讲一下雪天驾驶注意事项：

没有人愿意在下雪天开车，即使是经验丰富的老司机。但是如果你必须这样做，做到以下几个步骤可以大大减低事故发生率：

•       确定车况良好，适合出行。
•       计划好行车路线及了解最近天气及道路情况。如果风雪特别猛烈，考虑改道回家。
•       把油箱加满。这样做除了可以保证可以顺利到达目的地，也可以在万一被困在某地的情况下，长时间使用车内暖气取暖。
•       随车携带 breakdown kit (包括warning triangle, torch, shovel, blanket, chocolate bar。。。)
•       购买 breakdown service
•       The first fall of snow is very dangerous if the roads have not been gritted. 第一拨雪下完后，尤其当经过了一个晚上，路面带冰，会非常非常滑。所以一定要加倍小心每段时期的第一拨雪。
•       Keep your windshield and windows clear.除了配备防冻洗玻璃水，还要在车里准备一个可以用来刮冰的工具和一块干净的布（如果车子没有Car defroster）来保持车窗内外的清洁没有雾气
•       Allow more distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead. At least TEN seconds.
•       If your vehicle skids, don't hit the brakes! Ease off the accelerator and steer slightly into the direction of the skid until you gain control. Turn with steady rather than jerky motions.
•       An equally common problem is getting stuck in the snow.
你的车轮在雪里转，但是车子纹丝不动。这个时候千万不要一个劲的踩油门，这样会使你的车轮越陷越深。在可驱动的轮子周围撒上沙子（有写路边会有一个塑料的大箱子上面写着salt或grit）或小碎石，或者一块儿旧地毯都可以加大摩擦力。或者用前面讲过的车里配备的铲子，把雪铲走。
•       Ice is even more dangerous, because the thicker it is, the harder it is to see. When running or standing water freezes on the road, it forms black ice. This can linger in the shadows cast by trees and buildings throughout an otherwise sunny day. So if there has been a sharp frost overnight, be careful, especially when driving through shadows that keep the sun off corners and roundabouts.
