From Edinburgh University website:
Why choose our TESOL programme?
The University of Edinburgh is one of the world’s top 20 universities (QS World Rankings 2011/12).
The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programme is delivered by the University’s Moray House School of Education where we are committed to giving our students the very best educational experience.
Moray House lecturers have a wide range of expertise, which makes the School a vibrant and stimulating place to study. Our teaching is also under-pinned by world-famous research. In the last internationally-recognised Research Assessment Exercise, Moray House School of Education received the largest award for education research in Scotland and the second largest in the UK. This means that all of our students have access to the most up-to-date information, ensuring that their teaching practice is informed by this.
Edinburgh’s MSc TESOL has been a world-leader in pedagogical developments and change in English language teaching ever since the programme was founded in the 1970s. Our lecturers have extensive international teaching experience from primary school to PhD level, and a track record of ground-breaking research publications.
The MSc TESOL has been a lifetime experience that successfully combined the adventure of living abroad, the interaction with other teachers and the gaining of new knowledge relevant to my field.
